Membership Benefits

Perhaps the most important benefits are knowing you are helping to improve the community in which you live, volunteering in ways that use your time wisely and need your faithful commitment, building leadership skills, and meeting women who share the same values expressed through the JLM mission – increasing the potential of women and meeting community needs through the action of trained volunteers.

Since Mary Harriman convened the very first Junior League in New York in 1901, The Junior League's emphasis has always been on learning. Members benefit from extensive training in leadership and organizational development, community needs assessment, strategic planning, communications, advocacy and fundraising. Through this unique training, League members learn to manage and train volunteers, unite communities and form powerful partnerships.
