Million Minute Read Week

February 22-28 was the Junior Leagues of Georgia: Million Minute Read Week. 

  • The week was kicked off with a special event on February 22.  Lt. Governor Casey Cagle read on the steps of the Capitol to kids from Sheltering Arms Day Care.  For a glimpse of this special event, please click here
  • JLM on WMAZ!  Thanks to the generous efforts from our members and our partnership with Barnes and Noble, JLM was able to donate 900 books to local schools!  See our President, Kathleen Medlin, in this clip from 13WMAZ: 

 

All Aboard for Reading:  A Special Placement and Community Partnership

I have always loved to read. As a child, bedtime stories were nightly, trips to the mall meant a new book, and summertime began with a visit to the library, where I checked out dozens of books to fill those long months.

My parents understood the importance of reading, and they nurtured my passion for books. Not all children are as lucky.
