Dale Watts' Helping Hands Club at Central High School hand made quilt

January 11, 2008 -
Students in Dale Watts' Helping Hands Club at Central High School hand made a quilt that was presented to JLM Market Place 2008 Chair, Mary Ann Howard. Helping Hands was a recipient of a JLM Community Grant in 2007-2008. This Program for Exceptional Students (PES) at Central High School, has the goal of getting moderately intellectually disabled students out into the community and exposed to something more than the classroom.
Even a small grant can be applied to help further cognitive and emotional development, enhance awareness of the community in which we live, and provide a happy place to learn, all leading to a more fulfilling and enriched life.
Grant applications are accepted once a year by the JLM Community Grants Committee. The funds are made available from JLM's yearly fundraisers, including Market Place, Le Tour of Kitchens, and Sally Foster sales.
